How To Backup Aldelo

Step 1: Compact The Database

  1. Ensure ALL stations with exception to the server computer are COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN
  2. Open Aldelo on the Server Computer
  3. Enter the back office area
  4. Select “Compact Database”
  5. Select “Yes”
  6. Allow the compact operation to run for a few moments depending on the size of the database.
  7. Once completed, you can then perform a database backup.

Step 2: Create A Backup

  1. Ensure ALL stations with exception to the server computer are COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN
  2. On the server computer, enter the back office area and select “Backup Database”
  3. If you are backing up to a flash or removeable drive, plug in the drive and press ok.
  4. If you are creating a backup on the local machine itself, simply click ok.
  5. Select a destination for the backup. We recomend using C:\ResData\Backups as the path.
  6. Allow the backup to run, once completed return to the main pos screen.

Step 3: For Onguard Backup Customers – Add your backup to your remote backup job
If you currently have Onguard backup, you can configure Onguard backup to grab a copy of your Aldelo backups during it’s normal backup schedule.

  1. Open Onguard Backup
  2. Select the “Selections” Tab
  3. Expand “Computer”
  4. Expand “Volumes”
  5. Double Click on drive C to expand Drive C
  6. Double Click on ResData to open the resdata folder
  7. Select the checkbox next to Backups to include the folder into the backup set.
  8. Click Save
