Step 1: Compact The Database
- Ensure ALL stations with exception to the server computer are COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN
- Open Aldelo on the Server Computer
- Enter the back office area
- Select “Compact Database”
- Select “Yes”
- Allow the compact operation to run for a few moments depending on the size of the database.
- Once completed, you can then perform a database backup.
Step 2: Create A Backup
- Ensure ALL stations with exception to the server computer are COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN
- On the server computer, enter the back office area and select “Backup Database”
- If you are backing up to a flash or removeable drive, plug in the drive and press ok.
- If you are creating a backup on the local machine itself, simply click ok.
- Select a destination for the backup. We recomend using C:\ResData\Backups as the path.
- Allow the backup to run, once completed return to the main pos screen.
Step 3: For Onguard Backup Customers – Add your backup to your remote backup job
If you currently have Onguard backup, you can configure Onguard backup to grab a copy of your Aldelo backups during it’s normal backup schedule.
- Open Onguard Backup
- Select the “Selections” Tab
- Expand “Computer”
- Expand “Volumes”
- Double Click on drive C to expand Drive C
- Double Click on ResData to open the resdata folder
- Select the checkbox next to Backups to include the folder into the backup set.
- Click Save
